• Wristbands are required for entry into all areas. Please keep them on you at all times and ensure it is visible or you may be denied entry. 

• In/out privileges are allowed with wristbands.

• Treat all individuals with dignity and consideration, regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, religion, or background.

• Please respect and follow staff instructions.

• Avoid disruptive, intimidating, or aggressive behavior.

Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Unwelcome verbal or physical attention

• Offensive or demeaning comments, jokes, or imagery

• Sexual harassment or unwelcome advances

• Deliberate intimidation or stalking (in person or online)

• Capacity limits apply. Please arrive early for events you want to get into!

• Follow signage and instructions as noted.

• Respect the venue, event equipment, and shared spaces.

• Do not engage in vandalism, theft, or misuse of resources.

• Clean up after yourself and be mindful of your surroundings.

• If you witness or experience any violations of this policy, please report it to event staff or security immediately.

• Reports will be handled with discretion and seriousness.

• The event organizers reserve the right to remove individuals who violate these policies without refund or warning.
  

Accessible seating is available. Designated accessibility seating areas will be marked and prioritized for those needing accessibility seating.

It is illegal and against Ontario liquor laws for minors (under age 19, in Ontario) to possess, sell, procure, or consume alcohol.

Ontario's Liquor Licence and Control Act prohibits the possession and consumption of alcohol in public places that are not licensed or designated for alcohol use.

Intoxication in a public place is a criminal offence.

Any person found on the property in an intoxicated state will be removed from the premises.

Animals or pets are not permitted at ARC World (Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa) and ARC Hoops (Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre), with the exception of service animals for fans with disabilities. A service animal is defined as any animal that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, and can be identified as such. Fans entering our venue with a service animal will be required to provide documentation upon request. Please notify Asian Roots Collective (info@asianrootscollective.org) at the time of purchase if an additional seat is required for your service animal.

ARC World (Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa and Toronto Pan AM Sports Centre) and Asian Roots Collective (ARC) are committed to providing a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for our fans and guests. ARC is committed to providing courteous and professional service. Everyone should expect and help to promote an environment where people are treated in a courteous, professional, considerate and respectful manner by all fans, venue staff, team and event personnel, performers, players and other guests.

We strive to provide our guests with a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable atmosphere. In order to achieve this, it is the responsibility of each guest to act in an appropriate manner.

Reasons for expulsion from the building can

include, but are not limited to:

• Interfering with other guests’ ability to enjoy the event .

• Use of foul or abusive language, or gestures.

• Intoxication

Accordingly, ARC will not tolerate unsafe, abusive, unlawful or offensive conduct in our venue/event.

To protect our fans, event personnel and participants a restricted bag policy is in place at ARC World only for the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre for the event including but not limited to ARC Hoops.

Bags are permitted and are subject to being searched. Luggage, duffle bags, are not permitted as they will not fit, and all bags are subject to discretion of ARC and Venue Security staff.

Entry will be permitted subject to contacting ARC/Event Personnel for security inspection, including inspection of the bag and contents

Posters and signs must not exceed 11” x 17” in size (standard legal paper). Posters and signs must not hinder, distract, or interfere with the view of other fans and must not be obscene or in poor taste. Commercial, political, or negative messages are not permitted. They must not cover or distract from permanent signage or block ARC cameras. Fans are not permitted to use or wave banners, signs or other items that are affixed to any pole or stick made of wood, metal, plastic or any other hard material. In keeping with our Code of Conduct, and our goal to promote an environment that is considerate and respectful to everyone, ARC reserves the right to remove any banner/sign deemed inappropriate or used in an unacceptable manner.

Camera flashes may not be used at any time during the event by an attendee. Cameras with detachable lenses are strictly prohibited. Video cameras, and Selfie Sticks are not permitted. No professional cameras (75 mms or greater), or audio recording devices are permitted inside the building. This is subject to change on an event-by-event basis. Phone cameras and fixed lens cameras are permitted. ARC and its venue operators are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

ARC World: ARC World is held at the Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa which is under the jurisdiction of the City of Markham. The City of Markham Cannabis By-law states that:

1. Smoking and vaporizing of recreational cannabis is prohibited in all public places in Markham

2. Offenders may be subject to fines or penalties of up to $1,000.

3. Medical cannabis use is exempt from this by-law and subject to relevant federal and provincial legislation.

No person shall smoke or vaporize cannabis, or hold or otherwise use lighted cannabis in any public place, including, but not limited to, the following:

• Anthony Roman Centre

• Facilities owned by the City of Markham including, arenas, community centers, libraries, parks, and pools.

• Parks, trails, and natural areas

• All schools, daycare, and other childcare facilities

• Roads, sidewalks, and municipal boulevards

• Shopping centres and retail establishments

• Commercial or business and premises

• Public and private parking lots

ARC Hoops:

TORONTO PAN AM SPORTS CENTRE is a smoke free area, smoking anywhere on TORONTO PAN AM SPORTS CENTRE property is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

The User shall abide by all City of Toronto By-laws and all applicable legislation and regulations of the province of Ontario as they pertain to the use of the Facility

Under Municipal Code Chapter 709 - Smoking Bylaw, it is against the law to smoke within nine metres of an entrance or exit of any public building. A “public building” means an enclosed building to which the public and employees generally have access. Entrances and exits of a public building include back doors, fire exits, service doors and employee entrances.

The bylaw applies to any form of lit tobacco (i.e. cigarettes, cigars) or cannabis.

ARC World Pass (No Hoops)

Children (ages 3-12): $8.88

Children (2 and under): Free

ARC Hoops: Children 24 months and under may enter without a ticket but must sit on the lap of an accompanying adult. All children over 24 months MUST have their own valid ticket.

ARC World: ARC World does not offer a coat check service. Please note that ARC and the Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

ARC Hoops: ARC Hoops does not offer a coat check service. Please note that ARC and the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

ARC World: 
Doors will open at 11:00AM for entry into ARC Next. Please check the event detail page to confirm. 

ARC Hoops:
Doors will open at 6:00PM for entry into ARC Hoops.

Security measures will be conducted at the ticket gate, please allow yourself extra time for getting through our gates.

We strongly recommend that you obtain your tickets for the events from the designated Zeffy Ticket Portal. We are unable to guarantee the validity of tickets purchased from third-party sources and they will not be accepted. We cannot honour counterfeit/invalid tickets. Any fan who, knowingly or unknowingly, gains entry using invalid tickets will be subject to ejection without compensation.

ARC World:

Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa is completely wheelchair accessible. Within the Conference Centre, there is an elevator inside the venue and all washroom facilities are wheelchair accessible. In addition, washrooms are located on all levels.

ARC Hoops:

The Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC) is 100% accessible; the facility meets or exceeds the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards for Accessible Design, in every program area throughout the building.

Some accessibility features include:

• Multiple elevators for people who need to avoid stairs

• Braille on the signage and elevator buttons

By using a ticket to enter the ARC World venue, the ticket holder agrees to being photographed, filmed, or recorded in the event venue, and to the publication, reproduction, sales use, distribution, and broadcast of all photographs, video, or other recordings of the ticket holder's voice or likeness without further notice or compensation in any publicity, advertisement, or other publication carried out by, or on behalf of, ARC in perpetuity in any manner and media whatsoever, including print, broadcast, or digital.

By using a ticket to attend Festival screenings and events, the user waives and releases ARC from all claims he/she/they may have against ARC for any loss, damage, injury, liability, or expense he/she/theymay suffer, arising from his/her/their presence at the event venue due to any reason whatsoever, including those arising from personal injury, property loss/damage, or death.

ARC World: Food can be consumed anywhere in the Conference Centre. We ask that guests are mindful of their surroundings and use garbage bins in place.

ARC Hoops:

a. The facility of TPASC is a licensed facility. No alcohol shall be brought in from outside sources or consumed in locker/change rooms.

b. TPASC restaurants are located in the main lobby area and accessible to all community residents and TPASC Users without accessing programs or paying for any services. 

c. TPASC retains exclusive Food and Beverage and catering rights for the facility. 

d. No outside food is to be consumed in the Food & Beverage area.

If you notice a spill or other housekeeping concerns please contact an ARC or TMU event staff member.

There is zero tolerance for laser pointers at the event. If a fan is caught using a laser pointer, batteries will be confiscated. Repeat offenders will be subject to ejection from the event.

ARC World:

Media Access to ARC World will be at a designated area before ticketing. Please look for the PRIORITY booth at the Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa Conference Entrance. Media access is ONLY available to pre-approved individuals. There are no walk-in media requests. An ARC media representative will provide details for credential pickup and check-in area.

ARC Hoops: 

Media Access to ARC Hoops will be at a designated area before ticketing. Please look for the PRIORITY lane at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre north entrance. Media access is ONLY available to pre-approved individuals. There are no walk-in media requests. An ARC media representative will provide details for credential pickup and check-in area.

ARC World:

We ask that all attendees to please park at Markham Civic Centre, 101 Town Centre Blvd, Markham, ON, L3R 9W3 (across Highway 7). There is extremely limited paid parking on-site. 

ARC Hoops: 

Parking is available onsite with lots to the north and east of the facility.

For safety reasons, fans are refused entry if they are in possession of prohibited items. Illegal items will be turned over to Toronto Police. If a fan is found in the facility with prohibited items, the items will be confiscated and in some cases, the fan may be ejected from the building.

Prohibited Items include (but are not limited to):

• coolers

• sticks/flagpoles/flags

• aerosol cans

• weapons (including pocket knives)

• fireworks* (Fireworks, firearms or weapons of any kind are not permitted inside the ARC World at any time.)

• skateboards

• rollerblades

• roller-skates

• alcohol

• illegal drugs or noxious substances

• cameras, sound and/or video recording devices as per event restrictions (see also Cameras, Video Cameras, Audio Recorders)

• helium balloons

• stolen tickets.oversized bags, luggage

• confetti

• air horns, megaphones and other forms of amplified sound devices

* Please note that pocket knives will not be returned should these be confiscated by event security.

Public transportation is encouraged and advised as there may be limited parking close to the venue. Fans may take the Yonge/University subway line to Dundas station, which is within easy walking distance to ARC World (TMU Student Learning Centre and Kerr Hall Gym). Fans from outlying areas of Metro Toronto can take the GO Transit to Union and then the TTC Subway line afterwards.

ARC World and its banner events permit Re-entry via event wristbands, you may be asked to show your digital QR code ticket and/or receipt if requested.

Qualified designated security personnel are required to perform wand searches of all patrons entering the Pan Am Sports Centre during ARC Hoops. Additionally, some events may involve pat-down searches that will only be performed by qualified designated security personnel. Fans that refuse to submit to either a wand, visual or pat-down search shall be refused entry and may not be eligible for a refund on their ticket purchase.

Bags are permitted and are subject to being searched. Luggage, duffle bags, are not permitted and all bags are subject to discretion of ARC and Venue Security staff.

Entry will be permitted subject to contacting ARC/Event Personnel for security inspection, including inspection of the bag and contents.

Our security staff will be on duty throughout the building and on the grounds during events. If you need assistance, notify a member of our security staff immediately

ARC World and Hoops (Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa) is a smoke-free building*, including all areas, suites and lounges of the facility. ARC World and Hoops is committed to the health and safety of our event personnel, volunteers, our fans and everyone visiting our premises.ARC World:As per City of Markham By-Law, smoking and vaping is not permitted inside ARC World (Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa). Smokers must also keep a distance of 20 ft away from any entrances of the building, as stated under the City of Markham By-Law. 

ARC Hoops: TORONTO PAN AM SPORTS CENTRE is a smoke free area, smoking anywhere on TORONTO PAN AM SPORTS CENTRE property is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

During the event, there may be instances where fans may stand, such as during a performance, or during basketball game play. On those occasions, fans who are standing are asked to continue being respectful to others around them and to only stand immediately in front of their designated seat. Standing on seats or any other building structure is not permitted. Those who choose to do so will be subject to ejection without a refund.

Strollers and wagons are not prohibited but we strongly encourage attendees to not bring them. There is no staff attended area to store strollers and wagons. Event venue staff, ARC, and all its affiliates are not responsible for any losses/damage. Strollers and wagons should not impede the flow of traffic, walkways, or enjoyment and participation of other attendees - ARC and venue staff reserve the right

Each person attending an event must produce a valid event ticket, pass or authorized credential for that event or game.

Paperless Tickets are sold through the event’s ticketing site directly (Zeffy). A person purchasing Paperless Tickets is given a confirmation of their purchase. They will then have to present the QR code card on their mobile phone for wristband pickup and entry the day of the event.

Please ensure you are able to open it on your mobile device.

Please contact ARC regarding inquiries regarding accessibility seats. A ticket holder may be denied entry to or removed from an accessible seating area if they or the legitimate companion does not have a disability. If this occurs, ARC and TMU shall have no obligation to provide alternate seating.

Washrooms are located on every floor of the TMU SLC, and are also available closeby the Kerr Hall Gym.
